Alrighty, time for the nitty gritty!

The purpose of this blog is to try and accomplish several things at once.

1. To make available for download, albums that are no longer in print, from artists that never got the recognition that they deserved back in the day

• These albums will be hosted to MEGA for the foreseeable future.

• For the time being, these albums will be put up in MP3 unless the demand for FLAC is high enough.

• For the most part, all of the material on these albums has been out of print since their original release, and at the present time, seem unlikely to receive the re-release / remaster / proper treatment that they deserve.

• All MP3 albums will be properly tagged, ready for playing in iTunes.

• Quite a lot of these files have been scavenged from other blogs, both dead and alive. If I can find where I downloaded it from originally, credit will be given where credit is due.

• Scans will be added if I have physically own the album, or if I've retained them from previous downloads.

• Compilations strike a fine line, both ones of a single artist's material, and those containing multiple artists. In my mind's eye, as long as the particular album can no longer be legally purchased, either physically or digitally, it's right to go up.

2. To highlight artists from this era, who have uploaded or re-released their own albums on services such as Bandcamp, where up 'til now have remained blissfully ignored.

3. Finally, this isn't something I can do alone. If you guys out there have an album that hasn't been brought over to the digital era, I'd love to be able to post it and get it out there. Without us, these releases will languish until they they are nothing more than a distant memory, so let's bring them to the forefront. This includes stuff such as obscure compilations, live bootlegs and any of the material that was hosted at Demo Gate Drive.

My next post will kick off this blog with an album. I don't know whether I'll alternate between posting an album, and highlighting an artist as of yet, but I suppose it'll depend on the reaction this blog gets over the next few week and whether one will lead into the other.
